Lelyn Stewart is the 20 year old daughter of Lee and Chawny Stewart of Swainsboro, Georgia. She is a 2016 Honor Graduate of Swainsboro High School. Lelyn is currently a Junior at Georgia Southern University where she is majoring in Elementary Education and minoring in History. After graduation Lelyn plans to move back to Emanuel County and teach in the Emanuel County school system.
Lelyn’s dedication for promoting her platform, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, comes from her personal story of how they changed her life. After being hospitalized 37 times, from 6 weeks of age to 4 years old, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals diagnosed and corrected her abnormality. The Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, the Egleston Branch, diagnosed her with Gastroesophageal Reflux. Surgery was performed and forever changed her life.
When not studying at GSU, participating in her sorority, Alpha Delta Pi, or promoting her platform, Lelyn enjoys cheering on the Swainsboro Tigers, the Georgia Southern Eagles, and her brother, Jeb, when he is playing golf.
Being born and raised in Emanuel County, Lelyn feels this community is not only her friends but her family. Her lifelong dream of being Miss Emanuel County.
